Lexi

We have all been having a great time with our new family member. We are still in the bonding process. Lexi still is easily scared but warms up alot quicker to us.

We took her out to play alittle today. She was jumping all over the place. They are suppose to be very curious babies which I would agree with.

It was suggested that we put socks into her cage so she gets to know our scent quicker. We use these to get her out of the cage too because she likes to do her war pose and strike you to determine whether you are a friend or foe. Nothing hurts but we don't feel her at all with the sock so that is why we use it to pick her up.

This was awesome. She jumped right when I took a picture of her sitting on PF's arm so I got a picture of her gliding. PF was pretty shocked. She loves having a pet.

A new member to the Family

We have added a new flying creature to the population at our house......a sugar bear or sugar glider. We have named her Lexi.

Where did we find such a cute little thing? Yesterday we went to the mall to pick up a few things and they had a special exhibit table set up. We thought that Animal Planet was just showing off cool animals but it was actually a company selling these sugar bears. We fell in love with them pretty quickly. We got all the information about them and realized they were an ideal pet for us. We then walked away from the table and finished our shopping.....kinda wanted time to think and make sure we REALLY wanted one. Well after an hour and a half we decided to take one home.

We are in the bonding stage right now. As weird as it may sound she is snuggled up to dirty socks right now. It is important for them to know your smell and dirty clothes are ideal. Eventually she will be able to go with us everywhere and travel in a shirt pocket.

If you want to read more about them go to www.sugargliderinfo.org

Butterfly

Butterfly has just turned 5. She is becoming a beautiful young lady everyday. Everyday she surprises me with something new whether it is sounding out and reading words in her workbook or loving and sharing with her sisters. This year she has started Occupational Therapy to work on alot of physical and sensory issues she struggles with. I have seen many improvements and I have seen some negatives as well. I have learned alot to help her and now at home we are struggling with alittle less more so because I think I understand her struggles on anothe level. She is growing socially and is able to communicate and interact with new kids. She loves to jump and dance all the time. She is an awesome runner and is incredibly fast. She has also started a love for purses which she stuffs with various toys and things and brings with us everywhere. She has more of an opinion in what she wears everyday and doesn't want you to do anything with her hair. She loves STRING CHEESE....it is her major comfort food. If she is upset give her a string cheese and the effects are amazing. She also loves fruit and last night she almost ate an entire canteloupe.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly is almost 20 months old now. She has come a long way in the last couple months and it has been amazing to watch. She is still my snuggle bug which I absolutely love but now she is gaining alot of Independence. She loves being outside. She loves puppies and our neighbors have plenty to share. Her favorite food is bananas and she wants one when she first wakes up. She also loves chocolate....but all my kids do. She has started wanting to sit like a big kid at the table. This makes me nervous because my table is alot higher than most and I don't want her to fall. She is really good about picking up things and putting them away. She loves to help empty the dishwasher. She is a sock fetish....and right now she is wearing 6 pairs of socks. Her vocabulary is growing everyday but I am sure it will need some more special attention. She loves to color and I find her coloring on anything and everything.

Ladybug

Ladybug is almost 4 and will remind you everyday of it. She loves the camera as you will be able to see if you scroll down. She has an incredible memory and can tell you stories of things that happened awhile ago. My goal with her is to work on a long piece of scripture. She is so determined and wants her way. I work hard to rechannel her stabborness. She has started to be a huge helper. She loves for me to give her little jobs to do. She still loves chocolate and coffee. She recently has started to enjoy asparagus and asks for it often. She works really hard on her schoolwork and I have high hopes that her handwritting will be the best in the family. She now writes her own name and is very proud of it. She can buckle her own carseat. She is an early riser and is usually in bed with me when I wake up in the morning. She has quite an imagination and does well playing on her own.

Princess Flower

Princess Flower is 8 1/2. I could go on and on about her so I will try to keep it somewhat short. She loves the arts...dance, music, drawling, painting......I really don't think there is anything to do with art that she doesn't like. She is teaching herself Chinese which she finds to be so much fun. She loves gymnastics and is trying really hard to do a back bend into a bridge. She has just finished 4th grade and requested that instead of a break she wants to get started on 5th grade....not sure about that yet. She constantly wants to learn and seek knowledge. She loves to read!
She makes friends easily and cares deeply for all the little kids we live around. She is very emotional and cries at good-byes. She loves animals and wants a pet more than anything.
She is a great help to me. She loves to get up and make breakfast so I can sleep. She experiments with different flavors of oatmeal. She is learning the art of organization.
She loves the color pink, dresses and being girly but at the same time she is the first to play in the creek, caught bugs and frogs, and climb trees.
She loves pizza, mac and cheese, chick-fil-a, veggie soup, waffles, ham and cheese sandwiches, and most desserts as long as they don't have nuts in them.

Random Pics of Our Life

Not sure if you can see all the ants but our house is covered with them.

This was awhile ago but I never posted it. PF had a few friends over to spend the night and they went crazy with all the balls and jumping on the bed.

Dragonfly loves socks. This is a picture of her with 6 pairs of socks on.

I used to climb the door frames too.

Birthday Party

The birthday party for Butterfly and Ladybug went incredibly well today. My friend made a cake for the occasion and I loved it! A trampoline says so much right now.

I uploaded a few pictures for all of you to get a small glimpse of the party. My camera is charging so there will be more pictures to come.
